Description
USEPA Method 1664 Oil and Grease
US EPA Test Method 1664A and 1664B require vigorously shaking a 2L separatory funnel with 1000ml sample and 30ml n-hexane for 2 minutes per extraction with 3 extractions required per sample analysis.
Our DC-20B/DC-250 gives laboratories the ability to perform a similar test using the smaller 250mL separatory funnel, thus reducing the required sample sizes and chemical use. 250mL separatory funnels (glass or Teflon®) are placed in the agitator with the separatory funnel plate and secured with three easy-open hand knobs. The analyst has access to the funnels for venting and sample separation.
Construction
The DC-20B/DC-250 Rotary Agitator is constructed from high-strength solid aluminum alloy and the precision-machined rotary bar and frame are perfectly balanced for quiet operation and maximum durability. The Delrin plate and plastic hand knobs secure the funnels during rotation. Our DC-20B/DC-250 is powered by a 110v/60Hz Bodine 1/4 HP, variable-speed gear-motor. Bodine motors are internally lubricated, maintenance-free, rated for continuous duty operation and made in the USA. A Bodine electronic speed control is included to adjust the speed from 3-40 RPM.
